President B.H.Obama gave Mary Robinson the Presidential Medal of Freedom

President Obama gave on August 12,2009 the Presidential Medal of Freedom to Mary Robinson. M.Robinson, the former president of Irland and the United Nations High Commisioner on Human Rights.

Robinson initiated the World Conference against Racism, Racial Discrimination, Xenophobia and Related Intolerance which became "the scene of one of the most notorious explosions of anti-Semitism in decades"(Camera,Aug 7, 2009).

This Conference passed, under her leadership, a resolution accusing Israel of genocide and ethnic cleansing.

Under her leadership, the Arab Lawyers Union distributed among the members of the conference a pamphlet, in which members were asked what would have happened had Hitler won world war two. The answer was:"there would be no Israel, and no Palestinian bloodshed". Palestinians declared during the conference that they will "redeem Palestine through blood and fire"(Camera, Ibid).

After the damage was already done, she condemned the anti-Semitism she did nothing to prevent.

The preliminary meeting to the Durban Conference met in Teharn, the stronghold of human rights, tolerance and democracy. Robinson did not prevent the meeting in Teharan of all places.

In this meeting, according to U.S. Rep.Tom Lantos (Democrat from California),the plan to turn the conference into a propaganda weapon against Israel, was planned.

The question is what was President Obama thinkung when he decided to grant Mary Robinson the Medal.

His decision brought wide Jewish criticism against the President's decision. Lets hope that the Israeli media and the Israeli government will respond the same way.
