Learn the Truth about Israeli Society / DR.Rivka Shpak Lissak

Israeli Society is divided into 3 main parts: the liberal enlightened center, the extreme post- Zionist left and the extreme right.

A. The extreme left

The extreme left includes a small but very articulate Post- Zionists who control the media- newspapers and T.V- and a small but very aggressive group from the academia and the Judicial system. Some of them are ex- communists.

This group has adopted the Palestinian agenda whose main points are:

* Those who identify themselves as Jews are not the descendants of the Israelis/Jews who lived in Palestine 2000 years ago, but descendants of coverts. They are Jews by religion but they are not Jews by ethnicity. The present Jews have, therefore, no historical rights in Palestine.

* The Palestinians are descendants of the Israelis/ Jews of Palestine who never went to exile and they converted to Islam during the Arabic- Islamic rule of Palestine (640 -1099 CE). The present Palestinians are the real owners of this land and the Zionist- Jews are European colonialists.
The solution to the Israeli- Palestinian conflict is the elimination of the Jewish state, the settlement of the Palestinian refugees in ex- Israel and turn it into a bi-national state, next to the Palestinian state on the Western Bank And Gaza.

The leadership of Israeli- Arabs had published some documents about 2 years ago, in which they openly called this agenda "The Future Vision of the State of Israel". The Arab- Palestinian international propaganda is spreading this agenda all over the world.

Needless to say that ex- Israel will not become a bi- national state if the refugees will settle in ex- Israel, because the Jews will become a minority.

The result will be 2 Palestinian states and maybe 4; Ex- Israel, Palestine, Jordan who has a Palestinian majority and Gaza too.

This is the real agenda: Jews have no right of self- determination, not to mention that the whole agenda is based on rewriting history and distorting the real facts about the Jews and their connection to their homeland.

B. The extreme right

The extreme right is a small but very laud and aggressive group of mostly religious Jews who include the settlements on the Western Bank, and their supporters. They managed to control the Likud party, although about 50% of its voters do not belong to the extreme right, and support, according to polls, a 2 state solution. They vote Likud ,mainly, because they support its socio- economic agenda.

This extreme group fights against a 2 state solution by building settlements on the Western Bank, and by controlling the Likud party, who cannot build a coalition without them. Their agenda is to annex the Western Bank to Israel and either transfer the Palestinians to Jordan, or let them live in Great Israel without Israeli citizenship.

C. The center of the political structure

The center is occupied by the Labor and Kadima parties. The center supports a 2 state solution according to the 2000 Clinton- Barak proposal, and together with the 2 state solution supporters among Likud voters, more than 62% of Israelis support this solution.

Israel had a Labor majority and was a social- democrat society before the 6 days war (1967), but gradually the Labor party lost many of its voters to the extreme left or the right because of the Israeli- Palestinian conflict. People became disillusioned because of the Palestinian terror and looked for other solutions, than a 2 state solution.

D. Netaniahu's coalition does not represent the real will of 62% Israelis

The Kadima party became the largest party in the last elections, but Z.Livni, chairman of the party, failed to form its government because according to Israeli law a party can form a government if most parties recommend to the President of Israel their support. This law was taken advantage of by the extreme right who is divided to several parties, and Euhd Barak, Chairman of the Labor party, who betrayed his voters and recommended Netaniahu because he refused to serve under Livni, for personal and political reasons.

The result is that Netaniahu was able to form a coalition with the extreme right and Barak, and will survive as long as he supports the extreme's right agenda.

Netaniahu shares, as a matter of fact, the extreme right's agenda. He could build a coalition of Likud- Kadima- Labor with the agenda of a 2 state solution, but refused to do so.

In short, Israeli society is far more liberal and enlightened than its image in the international media. The silent majority is overshadowed by the extreme left who controls the media and by the extreme right who control the Likud. These 2 extreme groups create a distorted picture of Israeli society as racist and against a 2 state solution.

E.The Question is: Does the PA Support a 2 state Solution?

As long as the PA DOES NOT GIVE UP ITS DEMAND TO SETTLE THE REFUGEES IN ISRAEL AND NOT IN THE PALESTINIAN STATE THERE WILL BE NO REAL PEACE PROCESS. THE DEMAND FOR "THE RIGHT OG RETURN" IS A TROIAN HORSE TO ELIMINATE THE JEWISH STATE.

Dear Dr. Lissak,

Just found your message to me regarding my op-ed about the Sinn Fein councillor's discourteous behaviour toward the Israeli diplomat.

My email address is: Whatever I can do to help, let me know. But I'll warn you ahead of time: I don't have many table manners when it comes to dealing with anti-Jewish bigots. My language may offend you.
