An Open Letter to the Members of J.Street / DR.Rivka Shpak Lissak

Dear Friends,

I am against settlements and at least 50% of the Israelis share this view.

But, your policy is wrong. It supports the AP refusal to talk.
Why?
The settlement issue should be discussed and agreed upon through talks- not pre conditions.

You are not aware of the continuous efforts of the PA to use talks only to get concessions from Israel without moving one centimeter from their initial demands: for example, the right of return which is a Trojan horse to turn the Jews into a minority and putting an end to the Jewish state.

The Palestinians already rejected 6 proposals to get a state besides Israel:
1936/7 - the Peel commission
1947 - the UN resolution
1948 - 1967 - they were under Arab rule
1967 - after the 6 days war Israel proposed "land for peace "
2000 - camp david
2008/9 – Ulmert's proposal which Abu Mazen considered, better than the Clinton – Barak proposal in 2000, in an interview to Washington Post reporter.
Why he did not say YES?

You misunderstand the AP - you don't read Arabic.
Look into the web site PMW - THEY TRANSLATE TO ENGLISH WHAT THE PALESTINIAN PRESS, THEIR LEADERS SAY IN ARABIC, INCLUDING WHAT THEY TEACH IN THEIR SCHOOL SYSTEM.

It is the future of our children - not yours. Being liberals, you don't like Israel's right wing policy .You find it difficult as Jews to
identify. We, the 50% find it difficult too.

The Palestinians are greatly responsible for the trend in Israel from left to right. By rejecting 6 proposals they ruined the chances of the left.

Your policy is, in fact, pro- Palestinian, no matter what your intentions are.

Sincerely
DR.Rivka Shpak Lissak

If you are pro-Israel - you have permission

e have to fight against the demonization of Israel with facts

The Palesrinians are not interested in an agreement with Israel

I read the interview with Ben Ami, from J.Street with Shmuel Rozner in Maariv, 25,3,2011.

Ben Ami admits Obama made a mistake by his decision to focus on the settlements.
So, he corrected that mistake by vetoing the Security Council resolution on settlements.

But, J.Street was against the decision to veto the resolution. This makes no sense.

The Palestinians use the settlement issue as an excuse not to talk. The settlement issue should be part of the talks - not a pre- condition.
